In coordination with the Ministry of the Interior in implementing the rent subsidy policy, the Kinmen Country Government has increased rent subsidies to take care of more county residents. Due to rent increases in this county every year, and for the purpose of assisting families that cannot afford a house, each eligible household’s rent subsidy can be increased from 3000NTD to 5000NTD. If the applicant is raising two or more underage children, or is listed as part of a low-income household in Kinmen County, the applicant can receive an extra 1000NTD. The amount is determined based on the rental price listed on the lease contract. The maximum subsidy amount for each household is 7000NTD.
According to the county government’s Economic Affairs Department, the Ministry of the Interior offered 210 households’ rent subsidies in Kinmen this year. Residents can apply if they match the conditions and qualifications required by the Ministry of the Interior, have registered their residence and rent a place in Kinmen, and meet the following conditions:

1) Are nationals of the Republic of China and over the age of 20.

2) Make up one of the following family types:
1. Married.
2. Single and registered with immediate family.
3. Single and over 40 years old.

3) Match the following family income conditions:
1. Yearly family income for 2017 is not more than 870,000NTD.
2. Monthly income is no more than 36,015 on average for each person in the household.
3. Liquid assets for a family of four or less are no more than 600,000NTD (with an increase of 150,000NTD for each additional family member).
4. Non-liquid assets are no more than 3,750,000NTD.

4) No immediate registered family members own a residence.

In addition to rent subsidization, the Ministry of the Interior provides interest subsidies for housing loans and house repair loans. Applications can be filed from the 21st of July until the 31st of August this year. County residents who match subsidy conditions should request application forms from the county government or download them from the Construction and Planning Agency’s website and prepare the relevant documents. During the application period applicants should mail or deliver the documents in person to the Urban Planning Section of the Economic Affairs Department on the first floor of the Kinmen County Hall. Regarding any questions about applications, please call the Urban Planning Section of the Economic Affairs Department (082-312877), or check the house subsidy Q and A section on the right side of the Construction and Planning Agency’s website (http://www.cpami.gov.tw/).
