Kinmen County Government is making great effort for the National Airborne Service Corps to be stationed in Kinmen under Magistrate Chen Fu-Hai’s concerns for Kinmen’s emergency medical relief. Legislator Yang Cheng-Wu invited members of the Internal Administration Committee of the Legislative Yuan to visit Kinmen yesterday, and their first stop was Kinmen Airport, where they conducted a field investigation regarding medical relief, rescue, and aeromedical transport from offshore islands.
Legislators Yang Cheng-Wu, Huang Chao-Shun and others of the Internal Administration Committee arrived in Kinmen by plane at around 2:40 P.M., and convened an inspection meeting in the conference room of Kinmen Airport. Magistrate Chen also attended along with officials of the Ministry of the Interior, Ministry of Health and Welfare, and Ministry of Transportation and Communications.
The main purpose of the Internal Administration Committee’s visit to Kinmen is to inspect medical relief, rescue, and aeromedical transport. The committee resolved during the meeting that the National Airborne Service Corps should give consideration to becoming stationed in offshore islands due to residents’ expectations and need for medical relief; the policy should aim to provide corresponding human resources and hardware facilities to improve aerial rescue capabilities, and also station aircrafts suitable for flying at sea.
Also, they requested the National Airborne Service Corps complete fleet assignment for offshore island medical relief, rescue, and aeromedical transport within one month, and give a report to the Internal Administration Committee. Furthermore, Minister without Portfolio Hsiao Chia-Chi will invite related departments to discuss items requiring cooperation under the instruction of Premier Chang San-Cheng and resolution of the Internal Administration Committee.
