The future development prospect of Kinmen is optimistic! From April 23rd to 24th, Ke Cheng-Heng, Vice Chairman of the Straits Exchange Foundation, and Jhang Han-Wun, Honorary President of the Association of Taiwan Investment Enterprises on the Mainland (ATIEM) and other presidents of Taiwanese firms came to Kinmen to investigate the investment environment. Apart from making an official visit to Chen Fu-Hai, Magistrate of Kinmen County, they visited several buildings, such as Shueitou Commercial Port, Ever Rich Jinhu Plaza, and Wind Lion Plaza BOT project, as though Kinmen has already become the hot and new focus for Taiwanese firms in investment.
Ke Cheng-Heng, Vice Chairman of the Straits Exchange Foundation, stated that several presidents of ATIEM came to Kinmen with the primary aim of investigating the investment environment in Kinmen. Taiwanese firms have achieved outstanding results in investment in Mainland, so they want to return to the hometown for investment. Currently, these presidents have already made the preliminary plans, and the Straits Exchange Foundation will spare no efforts for assistance.
Besides, Jhang Han-Wun, Honorary President of ATIEM, expressed that these presidents have had a successful career in Mainland after years of effort, and they want to make certain contributions to their hometown for the sake of cross-strait peace and the happiness of the next generation.
At the beginning of this year, Wang Ping-Sheng, President of ATIEM, met with Ke Cheng-Heng, Vice Chairman of the Straits Exchange Foundation. He indicated that many friends from Taiwanese firms are planning to return to hometown to invest. Apart from the investment case in Miaoli Sanyi Woodcarving Park, some of them proposed to investigate the investment environment in Kinmen.
Therefore, after Ke Cheng-Heng, Vice Chairman of the Straits Exchange Foundation, contacted the Kinmen County Government, Kinmen County Government attached high attention to this issue, and invited Jhang Han-Wun, Honorary President of ATIEM, and his team to investigate the investment environment and major constructions of Kinmen. The party was accompanied by Ke Cheng-Heng, Vice Chairman of the Straits Exchange Foundation, and personnel from Kinmen County Government.
On April 23rd, Jhang Han-Wun and his team visited the historical site of war in Kinmen They also investigated the Ever Rich Jinhu Plaza, and made an official visit to Chen Fu-Hai, Magistrate of Kinmen County. Both parties had an in-depth exchange of views on the investment environment in Kinmen and the unique position of Kinmen in the development of cross-strait relations. Chen Fu-Hai, Magistrate of Kinmen County, extended his welcome and support to Taiwanese firms for their investment in Kinmen.
Yesterday, they went to investigate the Kinmen winery production chain, National Quemoy University, Shueitou Commercial Port, and Wind Lion Plaza BOT project. The investigation group of Taiwanese firms and Kinmen County Government had an extensive exchange of views, and gained an in-depth understanding of local industry characteristics and industry relevance on the spot. They were deeply impressed by the industrial talent cultivation, industry-academy cooperation and students from China Mainland in National Quemoy University.
Besides, when visiting the Shueitou Commercial Port, the investigation group of Taiwanese firms learned about the current development of Shueitou Commercial Port in cross-strait mini three links, especially the unique pivotal position of Kinmen in the cross-strait economic and trade exchanges, and realized that there was a lot of room for development of industries such as tourism and recreation, livestock farming and agricultural processing, and culture and creativity. After completion of all the investment investigation tours, they all expressed that it was a rewarding experience and fruitful results were accomplished!
Taiwanese firms are the important pillar of Taiwan’s economic development, and they serve as an important bridge for the development of cross-strait relations. Their investments in Kinmen will help build the cross-strait relations at the next stage and create favorable conditions for peaceful and stable development of both sides. Ke Cheng-Heng, Vice Chairman of the Straits Exchange Foundation, expressed that the Straits Exchange Foundation will do everything it can to help enhance the interests of the Taiwanese firms investing in Kinmen and sustain cross-strait peace and prosperity. For the investment investigation by Taiwanese firms in Kinmen, the Straits Exchange Foundation will spare no efforts to facilitate it and provide necessary assistance as the case may be. The Chairman also gave special thanks to Kinmen County Government and Mainland Affairs Council for providing relevant assistance to the investment investigation activities of ATIEM in Kinmen.
